Carla Hall CHOCOLATE PINWHEELS
- 1 sheet puff pastry dough
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons orange zest
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Brush the puff pastry with the melted butter.
In a small mixing bowl combine the sugar and orange zest with your fingertips. Then stir in the cocoa powder. Sprinkle evenly on the puff pastry.
Roll the puff pastry into a log and slice into 1/2 inch rounds.
Place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.
– Make a larger batch and store the raw, flavored logs in the freezer. Slice and bake whenever you are ready to eat!
– Replace the orange zest with a little ground cinnamon.
