Carla’s delicious twist on the traditional bread stick is one not to miss!
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
pinch of salt
12-16 ounces pizza dough
melted butter (for brushing)
Preheat oven to 375º F.
Whisk together the sugar, cinnamon, pepper and salt in a medium bowl.
Roll the pizza dough out onto a lightly floured surface with a floured rolling pin. The dough should be in a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
Brush the entire surface of the dough with butter and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over all of the dough. Cut dough in half, lengthwise. Cut widthwise into 1/2 inch strips of dough.
Twist each strip multiple times and lay onto a parchment lined sheet tray, leaving a few inches between each twist.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until pale golden and the dough is cooked through.
Remove from oven and serve warm.
1. For a non-dairy version, use olive oil instead of butter
2. Use a cooler dough for easier cutting
