This simple dessert is sweet for any occasion!

ingredients
SPICED APPLES WITH CREAM
2 tablespoons butter
4 Granny Smith apples (peeled, cored, cut into 1/4-inch thick wedges)
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 cinnamon stick
1 whole nutmeg
2 cups vanilla wafers

CREAM:
1 container whipped cream cheese
1/3 cup sour cream
1-2 tablespoons heavy cream

directions
In a large saute pan, add butter and heat over medium heat. Add apples and allow to cook until slightly soft, about 4 minutes. Add brown sugar and stir to combine. Using a microplane, grate 1 teaspoon of fresh cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon of fresh nutmeg and mix to combine. Cook until apples have broken down, another 5 minutes.
Divide the apples between bowls, top with crushed vanilla wafers and cream.
For the Cream: In a medium bowl add the cream cheese, sour cream and heavy cream and fold to combine.
Tip: For homemade whipped cream cheese, beat cream cheese in the stand mixer until light and fluffy, about 4 minutes.
