Carla’s Frozen Orange Dream literally tastes like a dream!
FROZEN ORANGE DREAM
3 medium navel oranges (plus additional juice to garnish)
2 1/2 cups Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons orange marmalade
2 tablespoons honey (plus more for garnish)
1 lemon (zested)
1/2 bunch mint (to garnish)
candied orange zest (to garnish)
Cut the oranges in half and scoop out the insides. Strain the juice into a small bowl and set aside.
Place the hollowed out oranges in a baking dish and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
In the carafe of a blender, add the orange juice, yogurt, orange marmalade, honey and lemon zest. Blend until whipped together, about 30 seconds. Spoon the yogurt mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish. Place in freezer for 1 hour. After an hour, use a fork to scrape the orange yogurt mixture. Place in freezer for another hour, remove and scrape one more time. Place in freezer until ready to use.
To Serve: Remove frozen oranges and frozen orange sorbet. Scoop frozen sorbet into the frozen orange. Garnish with a drizzle of honey, mint, 2 tablespoons orange juice and candied orange zest.
