You won’t even tell these Mozzarella Sticks are Gluten Free!

ingredients
GLUTEN-FREE MOZZARELLA STICKS
vegetable oil (for frying)
1 pound mozzarella (cut into 3×1/2-inch sticks)
1 cup rice flour
3 large eggs
3 tablespoons milk
1 cup potato flakes
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 cup store-bought, gluten-free marinara sauce (warmed, for serving)
Kosher salt (to taste)

directions
Line a baking sheet with a baking rack and set aside.
Prepare a dredging station with three shallow dishes. In the first dish, add rice flour. In the second dish, whisk together eggs and milk. In the third dish, whisk together potato flakes, basil, oregano, garlic powder and onion powder.
Dredge the cheese sticks in the rice flour, shaking off any excess. Dip sticks into the egg mixture and finally, coat sticks in potato flakes. Repeat process again creating a double dredge. Place on the rack-lined baking sheet. Dredge remaining cheese sticks the same way and freeze for at least one hour.
When ready to fry, add 2-3 inches of oil to a Dutch oven and heat to 350ºF.
Carefully drop the mozzarella sticks into the preheated oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and season with salt while still hot.
Serve with warmed store-bought marinara sauce.
Tip: Customize it! Use your favorite blend of spices in the potato flakes to create a unique appetizer with your own personal flair!
