MEDITERRANEAN-STYLE TURKEY BURGER SLIDERS
1 pound ground turkey
1 tablespoon fresh oregano (finely chopped)
2 teaspoons za’atar spice blend
1 red onion (peeled, shaved, to serve)
1 cucumber (thinly sliced, to serve)
1 cup feta (crumbled, to serve)
4 slider rolls (to serve)
1 head butter lettuce (to serve)
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
Preheat griddle to medium-high heat.
In a large bowl add turkey, oregano, and za’atar and mix to combine, being careful not to overwork. Form into 4, 4-ounce patties. Season the sliders with salt and pepper on both sides, drizzle with olive oil and place on griddle. Cook until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 3 minutes per side.
Place buns on the other side of the griddle and allow to toast until golden brown, about 3 minutes.
Remove burgers to a platter and top with sliced red onion, cucumber, and crumbled feta. Serve on a bun or butter lettuce leaves.
Tip: Use the same seasoning in a lamb burger or a beef burger.
